Krell Home Theater Standard 2 & Theater Amplifier Standard pre-pro and 5-channel amp:
Unless otherwise noted, all measurements are for the left channel, using the balanced inputs. The Theater Amplifier Standard's frequency response was -0.06dB at 10Hz, -0.01dB at 20Hz, -0.08dB at 20kHz, and -0.53dB at 50kHz, both single-ended and balanced. The gain was 25.7dB from either input. The THD+noise at 1W into 8ohms measured 0.035% at 20Hz, 0.035% at 1kHz, and 0.003% at 20kHz. (Into 4ohms, the respective figures were 0.013%, 0.013%, and 0.002%.) Into an 8ohms load, the TAS clipped (1% THD+noise) at 238W at 20Hz and 239W at 1kHz, all channels driven. Into 4ohms, clipping occurred at 337W at 20Hz and 344W at 1kHz, all channels driven. With two channels driven, the amplifier clipped at 263W at 1kHz into 8ohms and at 475W into 4ohms. The line voltage for all measurements was 120V.—TJN
