Thiel CS3.7 Speaker System: First Look
Price and Availability TBA It's always a big whoop when one of hi-fi's legendary companies unveils an ambitious new speaker. Thiel's upcoming CS3.7 is a three-way floor stander built with a midrange and woofer using an entirely new ribbed diaphragm design by Jim Thiel. These drivers look like pie tins but are lighter and stiffer than Thiel's previous aluminum drivers. Having high quality drivers that operate over a broad frequency range is especially critical in time-and-phase correct speakers using first order crossovers. Thiel's new midrange is claimed by Thiel to offer resonance free performance up to and astounding 22kHz! We're hoping to hear working models at HE 2006, so watch for our reports.
