Sony KDS-50A2000 RPTV: First Look
SXRD production is ramping up, and the Sony's lineup of SXRD displays is expanding. The A2000 series is only one step down from the mighty XBR line, and seemingly only lacks the flagship series' front panel HDMI input, detachable speakers, and CableCARD HD tuner. The 1080p resolution and input capability is there, as is the dynamic iris for those inky blacks. And since SXRD is a three-chip technology, there's no color wheel, just smooth, continuous color with no rainbows. For those with no need of the speaker system or the CableCARD these sets seem an outrageous value. Available this summer.
