Halcro MC50 Amplifier: First Look
Halcro is a new-ish company that has made big waves in the industry in a short period of time, including a Stereophile cover that glossed the Australian company's dm58, "The Best Amplifier Ever!" Ahem. How's that for an attention getter? Halcro's efficient, universal switch mode, power factor corrected amps would seem tailor made for home theater, and now the MC50 is here to prove it. Five channels rated (strangely) at 350-Watts into 4 ohms (and, I'm guessing, somewhat less into the more traditional 8 ohms) are on tap here in a box that's attractive if just a little less sci-fi than Halcro's high-end monoblocks. Available now.
